Governor Wike Recalls 4 Suspended Commissioners

Nyesom Wike, the governor of Rivers State, had recalled four commissioners, the head of service of the state, and his special adviser on lands from suspension, according to a statement by his electronic media aide, Simeon Nwakaudu.

Governor Wike, on August 31, 2016, suspended the Rivers State head of service, Rufus Godwin, his special adviser on lands, Anugbun Onuoha, commissioner for chieftaincy affairs, John Bazia, commissioner for tourism and culture, Mrs. Tonye Briggs-Oniyide, commissioner for sports, Boma Iyaye, and his finance commissioner, Fred Kpakol.

The reason for their suspension were not disclosed.

This callback, announced on Friday, September 16, 2016, is coming more than two months early as their suspension was supposed to be for three months.
