LOKOJA, Nigeria – The Chairman of the Kogi State Market Board, Danjuma Odiba, has been dismissed from his position due to a “gross failure to perform his duties”, according to an announcement made on Monday, June 19, 2023, by the State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

The declaration was made during Monday’s extraordinary State Executive Council Meeting held at the Government House in Lokoja.

The Commissioner for Information and Communication Strategy, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, confirmed the development after the council meeting.

According to Fanwo, Odiba was accused of neglecting his duties and allowing a resurgence of uncleanliness in the state, which contradicted the state’s public health initiatives.

Fanwo added that a replacement for Odiba would be announced in the next few days as the administration continues its commitment to maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the state’s marketplaces.

He emphasized the state government’s dedication to efficient service delivery and stated that any official who fails to deliver on their duties would be relieved of their post.
