The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Ishola Balogun Fulani, on Friday, May 20, 2016, was kidnapped at gunpoint in Kogi State.
Also kidnapped along with the chairman was the state secretary of the ruling party, Bode Adekanye.
The development, it was learnt, has put the government and the ruling party into confusion and apprehension in the state.
Vanguard reports that party officials and members were seen discussion in groups over the development.
The party publicity secretary, Suleiman Buhari, confirmed the kidnap on Friday.
According to him, the two were whisked away at about 10am on Friday morning while returning from Abuja to Ilorin.
He said party chieftains received a call from the party chairman, saying he has been kidnapped.
He, however, said the party had swung into action just as it has informed all security agents and they are all at alert.
