A 37-year-old man identified as Kamoli Isiaka, was stabbed to death by his friend Azeez during an argument over N2,000 at Ololade Street at Morogbo community, Lagos State.
According to reports, the deceased and his friend were given N2,000 by one Mr. Ololade in the neighbourhood.
A misunderstanding later ensued between the duo and Azeez angrily stabbed his friend on the neck during the process.
On noticing that he had killed his friend, the suspect reportedly escaped to the Baale of Ayetejuesefo community in Elija.
Some concerned neighbours were said to have rushed the deceased to the hospital following the stab but he unfortunately died before they could get to the hospital due to much loss of blood.
His corpse was deposited at the Badagry General Hospital from where it was later retrieved by the family and buried at a Muslim burial ground at Iyana Isashi.
Narrating the incident, a step-brother, to the deceased identified as Alfa, said: “The man, whom they named the street after, gave Isiaka, and two of his friends N2,000 for a reason yet to be known. It was while they were sharing the money that Isiaka and Azeez began to fight.
“While people who were around tried to intervene , Azeez rushed into his house, picked a bottle, broke it and stabbed Isiaka.
“Immediately neighbours around tried to save isiaka’s life by taking him to the hospital, unfortunately, he died on the way due to loss of much blood.”
