Members of the House of Representatives have been thrown into mourning following the death of its member, Hon. Musa Baba Onwana.
Onwana, who represented Nasarawa/Toto Federal Constituency of Nasarawa state under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC died on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at the age of 50.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, described Onwana as hardworking, calm, peace loving, committed and dedicated colleague and a good family man.
A statement issued by Dogara’s spokesperson, Turaki Hassan, said: “Hon. Onwana was a patriot and a true Nigerian who was always championing the cause of his people in the House.
“We have lost a hardworking, committed and dedicated colleague and our hearts go to his immediate family, constituents, government and people of Nasarawa State.
“I pray that almighty God grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
Onwana was elected to the House of Representatives in 2011 and re-elected in 2015.
Prior to his election, he was a a tutor at Government Secondary School, Nasarawa between 1991-1993 before he became a senior manager, General Services/Logistics at MTEL between 1997-2010, and a lecturer at the Federal Polytechnic, Nasarawa, between 1993-1997.
