A Nigerian woman who survived the Beirut blast has spoken up about the tragic incident from her hospital bed.
Nkiru Obasi, a nurse who works as a caregiver to a senior citizen, experienced the blast first hand from a 4-storey building close to the location of the blast which has killed over 100 and injured thousands.
Obasi sustained injuries from the blast on August 4 and is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Lebanons capital.
Speaking from the hospital, Obasi said she is lucky to be alive as many people on her building died from the impact of the blast.
Obasi narrated how she walked over dead bodies to escape as the building began to collapse. She disclosed that shattered pieces of glass pierced into her body and she lost a lot of blood.
She was able to make her way to an African community to get help.
Obasi is appealing to Nigerians for help to return back to the country.
