INEC Reschedules Polls In 8 Bayelsa LGAs

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has rescheduled elections in eight state constituencies in Bayelsa State.

The development was made known through a statement by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Baritor Kpagih in Yenagoa.

According to the statement, the  said elections in Ekeremor Constituencies 1,2 and 3, Kolokuma/Opokuma constituencies 1 and 2, Sagbama constituencies 1 and 2, and Southern Ijaw Constituency 1 have been rescheduled to Saturday, April 18, 2015.

The polls were rescheduled in agreement with the request of the stakeholders not to hold elections in the constituencies without full compliment of ballot papers with regard to the total Permanent Voter Cards distributed.

He explained that election in the remaining constituencies of the state will still hold on Saturday, April 11, 2015.
