Announcing the acceptance via a message titled “Kill and be Killed” was the Spokesman on ISIS, Abu Muhammad al-Adnani, who welcomed the “expansion caliphate to West Africa.”

al-Adnani, whose ISIS controls large swaths of Iraqi and Syrian territory, also threatened Jews and Christians in the message.

He said: “We announce to you to the good news of the expansion of the caliphate to West Africa because the caliph… has accepted the allegiance of  our brothers of the Sunni group for preaching and the jihad.”
