Must read

Militants under the umbrella of the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) have kidnapped no fewer than 90 Christians including men, women and children in northeast Syria.

The exact number of the abducted Assyrians remained unclear on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 but they are estimated to be ranging from 70 to 150.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that ISIS militants seized members of the Assyrian community, a Christian minority sect, during a series of dawn raids centering on the town of Tal Tamr and neighboring villages, according to Time.

Meanwhile, another group, the Syriac National Council of Syria, said that at least 150 people have been confirmed missing from the attack.

Activists further revealed that the kidnap came up as Kurdish Peshmerga forces, backed by U.S. airstrikes, waged a campaign against ISIS strongholds in northern Syria, which by implication subdued the ISIS militants.

The militants have beheaded an estimated 21 Coptic Christians in Libya earlier this month among many other attacks in different countries across the globe.
