The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ondo State chapter has dismissed the rumour that Jimoh Ibrahim has been adopted as the party’s candidate in the forthcoming governorship election in the state following the reconciliation of the party at the national level.
The Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Banji Okunomo disclosed this on Thursday, September 22 2016 in Akure. he said “the piece of information is not only untrue, it is patently ridiculous and atrociously offensive.”
He reiterated that Mr Jimoh Ibrahim is not a member of the party and can never emerge as the party’s candidate.
It will be a political malady of the century for Jimoh Ibrahim, who is not a bonafide member of our party, by whatever means, to emerge the candidate of our esteemed party, the PDP in Ondo State.”
Okunomo said “for the umpteenth time, the PDP in Ondo State is very proud with the candidacy of Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), a man that carries much honour and integrity.
Eyitayo Jegede has proved that he could be entrusted with the mandate of continuity of good governance in Ondo State on the platform of the PDP.”
He urged members of the party to disregard the rumour and continue to work for the success of Mr. Eyitayo Jegede in the forthcoming governorship election.

Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) remains PDP flagbearer for Ondo 2016 governorship election.It has become necessary to debunk the rumour being peddled by some unscrupulous elements that Jimoh Ibrahim has emerged the compromise governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State in line with the reconciliatory effort at the national level of the Party.This piece of information is not only untrue, it is patently ridiculous and atrociously offensive.
It will be a political malady of the century for Jimoh Ibrahim,who is not a bonafide member of our party, by whatever means, to emerge the candidate of our esteemed party, the PDP in Ondo State.
The PDP is a serious minded party that gives thorough consideration to all the essential parameters that must be considered in choosing its flagbearers, particularly a gubernatorial candidate.
There can never be any extreme circumstance that can compel the PDP in Ondo State to settle for Jimoh Ibrahim.
The people of Ondo State are hereby informed that the rumour emanated from the pit of hell. It should therefore be discountenanced or discarded.
For the umpteenth time, the PDP in Ondo State is very proud with the candidacy of Mr Eyitayo Jegede (SAN), a man that carries much honour and integrity.
