Man City To Get Raheem Sterling At £49 Million

Manchester City have reached an agreement with Liverpool to sign England international, Raheem Sterling for £49m.

Stirling 20, will become the most expensive English player ever, if the deal pulls through. Other details of the transfer is subject to contract negotiations and a medical.

The England international who is under contract with Liverpool  until 2017,  turned down a new £100,000-a-week deal at Liverpool. He told manager Brendan Rodgers and chief executive Ian Ayre he wanted to leave the club this summer

On Saturday, Sterling was named on a 30-man list for the tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, but was then withdrawn.

Some Ex-Liverpool players have come down hard on the player for the manner he has handled his transfer. .

Steven Gerrard, former Liverpools captain and now LA galaxy player said he was “disappointed” in the England international.

“You don’t have to throw in illness, or refuse to go on tour,” LA Galaxy midfielder Gerrard added. “The fans have shown him great support, they want him to stay and I believe that he should too.”

However, reports say Liverpool have decided let the player go and  have been left out of the teams preseason.
