The Emir of Gusau, the capital of Zamfara state, Alhaji Kabir Danbaba, has on Thursday, March 5, 2015 died in a private hospital in Abuja after a protracted illness.

The development was announced via a public radio announcement by the Zamfara Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Birnin Magaji.

Born in 1927,  late Danbaba died at the age of 88 years old.

Last month, the late Emir was hospitalized at Yariman Bakura Specialist Hospital, in the Tudun Wada area of Gusau, before he was transferred to Abuja.

The state commissioner for Information,  who announced the death of the Emir through a radio public announcement, said the funeral prayer time of the deceased will be later in the day.He became the district head of Gusau in 1984, a post which he held for 13 years.

Hewas later promoted to the rank of a second class Emir in 1997, which lasted for 3 years before he was made first class Emir in 2000.

Left to mourn him are 37 children and a host of grand children and a host of other relatives.
