Liverpool advanced to the final of the 2016 Capital One Cup on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 after a triumph over Stoke City.

The Reds lost the game 0-1 but the two-legged semi final ended 1-1 in aggregate scores and then went all the way to a penalty shootout. Liverpool won the shootout by 6-5 after Mignolet saved two penalties.

Everton and Manchester City will slug it out on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 for a place in the final of the Capital One Cup.

Despite not knowing their opponents yet, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has promised the Anfield faithfuls he will get them the Capital One Cup.

“Manchester City or Everton, I don’t care, we will win the cup.

“Liverpool is a wonderful city and they deserve it.

“We have been here for four months now and I can only say the best about Liverpool. It’s great to live here and live in the surroundings to meet people – even when you meet Everton fans!

“Maybe I shouldn’t say this, but everyone up until now has been very friendly – they like that I’m here as we don’t have much success.

“If we meet each other then for Liverpool it is a great final and for LFC very important,” Klopp explained.
