A man heard two people making a bet about eating a metal blade and decided to try it himself.
The man of China, agreed to swallow a saw blade and a five-inch screw in exchange for $900.
According to WWWN, the man named Xiao Gong of Ningbo, was concerned as to how he will pay his rent, so when he heard about the dangerous bet, he decided to take the challenge.
Gong swallowed the five-inch nail for 2,000 Yuan ($300) and a saw blade for 4,000 Yuan ($600).
However, after Gong won his bet, he was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries to the stomach. He nearly lost his life.
At the hospital, doctors took an xray of Gong’s stomach, and were surprised by its contents.
The nail and blade where both embedded in different parts of his stomach. Doctors were able to remove the nail after a two-hour surgery.
However, damage to the lining of the stomach means that Gong can easily develop an infection and he will require further treatment.
Gong’s behaviour left with a hospital bill of over 10,000 yuan about $1,500.
