Morgan Freeman Survives Airplane Mishap In Mississippi

American actor, Morgan Freeman emerged unhurt after the tyre of the plane he was travelling in blew after takeoff. This forced the pilot to make an emergency landing in which the landing gear collapsed.

A friend of the 78-year-old Oscar-winning actor, Bill Luckett (Mayor of Clarksdale) has explained that the twin-engine plane made a controlled forced landing on Saturday at an airport in Tunica, Mississippi after take off from another airport in the same area.

The actor has also issued a statement through  his publicist. The statement reveals he was travelling to Texas to shoot a part of the series, ‘The Story of God’ when the mishap occurred.

“Sometimes things don’t go as planned and a tyre blew on takeoff, which caused other problems,

“But thanks to my excellent pilot, Jimmy Hobson, we landed safely without a scratch. I cannot say the same about my plane.

“I appreciate the concern and prayers for our safety,” the statement read.
