Udom Emmanuel of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has emerged winner of the governorship election in Akwa Ibom State.
The results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) shows that Emmanuel polled 996,071 votes to beat his closest competitor, Umana Okon Umana of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who garnered 89,865 votes.
