Nigerian sprinter, Blessing Okagbare, on Monday, August 15, 2016, qualified for the 200 metres semi-final at the ongoing Olympics in Rio De Janeiro in Brazil.
The Olympic medalist clocked 22.71 secs to win heat 5 in the first round.
She secured a spot in the 200m semis through automatic qualification as she finished first, clocking 22.71s ahead of Great Britain’s Asher-Smith who finished in the second position with 22.77s.
Cote d’Ivoire duo of Marie-Josee Ta Lou and Murielle Ahoure qualified alongside Okagbare.
