The vow of “…till death do us part” seems not to have worked well enough for an old couple who died recently in a very unique way.
Having known each other since their primary school days, a 90-year-old man and his 89-year-old wife who have been married for 67 years refused to leave each other even in death as they died holding each other’s hands.
Floyd Hartwig, and wife Violet, died in their own home in two hospital beds which had been pushed together so they could hold hands, according to Metro UK.
The man died first while his wife followed suit just five hours later on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.
Shortly before they died, one Daugher Donna Scharton helped the pair to push the
ir beds together so they would stay closer to each other.
Scharton said, ‘I think that’s what kept them going … that they each had the other one.
‘They didn’t want to go without each other.’
