Police Bust Initiation Ground Of Cult Group In Ogun

Police in Ogun State invaded an initiation ground where suspected cultists were undergoing initiation into Black Axe in a forest at Imosan Ijebu, Ogun State.

The police from Ago Iwoye Division of Ogun State Command, acting on a tip off, invaded the forest, dismantling the gang and arrested two members of the gang, Obasanjo Segun and Musari Saheed.

The two suspects are cooling their feet in police custody, even as they have confessed to be members of Black Axe operating in the area.

The two suspects who were rounded up by the police, having burst their hideout in the forest, were reported by new members who were initiated into the group against their wish.

The suspects are residents of Computer Village in Ago Iwoye.

The Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Abdulmajid Ali, has transferred the suspects to the State Anti-Robbery Squad in Abeokuta as investigation continues into the activities of cultists in the state.

He said cultism is the root of social vices and criminal activities in the state, noting that cultism is tackled, crime would be reduced.
