Police Bust Kidnapping, Robbery Gang In Bauchi

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested suspected armed robbers and kidnappers and recovered arms and other items including cash, Daily Trust reports.

The state police command’s spokesperson, DSP Haruna Mohammed, in a statement Sunday, May 8, 2016, said the arrest of the suspects followed an earlier arrest of one Ya’u Abdullahi of Kimini Village by Police detectives attached to Bauchi Area Command on May 1, 2016.

According to him, the suspects belonged to a syndicate who specializes in robbery and series of kidnappings along Maiduguri road and Dass axis.

He said preliminary investigation led to the arrest of three other accomplices which include ;Gambo Muhammadu and Jbrin Adamu both of Kimini village and Musa Yusuf of Mararraban Liman Katagun.

DSP Haruna said that items including One AK 47 Rifle,18 rounds of of 7.62 mm live ammunition, a Peugeot 406 and a Sum of 1.5 Milion Naira cash were recovered from the suspects.

He said that the case is still under investigation and the suspects would be charged to Court for prosecution afterward.
