#RIP: Super Falcon’s Media Officer Dies In Abuja (PHOTOS)

The Nigeria female football team, Super Falcons, have been thrown into mourning following the death of their media officer, Gracious Akujobi.

Sources from her family, disclosed that Akujobi died in the early hours of Thursday, July 16, 2015 at the General Hospital, Maitama, Abuja, after a brief illness.

33-year-old versatile journalist who worked for Prompt News Online, was formerly the spokesperson of the Nigeria women U17 team Falconets.

Announcing the death, Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi said, “This is a very tragic occurrence. Gracious was such an energetic, hardworking officer and her death has come as a terrible shock. Her commitment to the job was never in doubt.

“The NFF is in deep mourning with her family over this tragedy.”

The late football icon was with the Falcons at the recently concluded FIFA Women’s World Cup in Canada.

The team is currently preparing for an Olympic Games qualifier against Equatorial Guinea.
