Must read

River state Governor, Nyesom Wike, on Wednesday July 1st 2015, ordered the payment of two months salaries of civil servants he inherited from the Rotimi Amaechi led administration in the state.

In a statement, the governor, said his administration, would give special attention to the welfare of workers in the state’s employ.

It will be recalled that the past administration owed workers in the state, April and May salaries before it handed over.

However, the governor noted that funding will not affect ongoing rehabilitation work on roads in the state.

He gave the assurance while inspecting work on the East West-Elelenwo-Trans Amadi-Garrison Road.

He said that the East West-Elelenwo-TransAmadi-Garrison Road was important to the economy of the state capital as it cuts across a major commercial zone.

“I am not satisfied with the pace of work on this road, although I understand the reason for the delay. We will pay the contractor next week and we expect him to complete the project within four months,” he said.
