Robbers Storm Hospital, Rape Nurses And Patients In Ogun (PICTURED)

A gang of rebels numbering about 10 stormed one private hospital known as Amazing Grace Hospital, in Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area, Ogun State and allegedly raped the patients and nurses.

The sad incident happened in the night of Saturday, September 5, 2015 after the robbers dispossessed them of their property.

However, eight of the rebels were later arrested by policemen attached to the Igbeba Division of the state Police Command after they allegedly robbed and shot dead a man identified as Alayande Oladipo at Olisa Street, in the town.

The state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSPOlumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident and the arrest, saying other members of the gang escaped during a fierce gun battle with the police.

Adejobi said: “The police operatives attached to Igbeba Division of the command swung into action immediately the information got to them and rushed to the said area where the suspected armed robbers opened fire on the police operatives who responded with heavy fire power which curtailed the men before eight of them were arrested.

“The leader of the gang, one Ayomide Muruf, alias Sucker, sustained bullet wounds in the battle. Other members of the gang arrested included Kayode (surname yet unknown) alias Small;Tunde Ruben, Tomiwa Adekoye, Adeyemi Adegoke, Kufe Emmanuel, Moses Udoh and Akeem Adenrele alias Polo, while some of the robbers escaped with bullet wounds.”
