A man has battered his pregnant wife mercilessly because she bought him 12 cans of beer instead of 18.
38-year-old Patrick Donahue Tolbert was arrested on charges of domestic violence by police officials in South Carolina.
Records from the Kershaw County Detention Center disclosed that Tolbert was charged with criminal domestic violence after his arrest.
It was learnt that their marriage was just two years old and the woman was pregnant for the man before the assault in their apartment.
The woman disclosed that her husband had been drinking all day and threatened to deal with her if she failed to buy 18 extra cans of beer for him.
According to World Wide Weird News, the victim agreed to buy her husband 12 cans of beer, but he wanted nothing less than 18. She went to a nearby shop and bought the 12 cans as promised only to return and meet her husband outside their house with a weapon with which he battered her.
The woman managed to escape to a neighbour’s house from where she called the police and he was arrested.
