Heavily armed soldiers, under the command of the minister of state for Niger Delta, Professor Claudius Daramola, have invaded a polling unit at Okitipupa local government area of Ondo State, eyewitnesses say.
The troops invaded a polling unit in Ode-Aye community shooting at voters as voting was on-going in the Ondo governorship poll on November 26, 2016.
According to a reliable source, the military men were acting on the orders of Professor Daramola, who had invited them to his residence just before they commenced their illegal operation.
The sporadic shooting led to pandemonium as voters and officials scampered for safety.
Earlier in the morning, the minister was spotted in a convoy of at least 150 soldiers, conducted a parade around Ode Aye, identifying polling units in the community.
This is a developing story. More to come.
