Spirit and Life Devotional: On Eagles’ Wings

Must read

Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

“‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians. You know how I carried you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.” – Exodus 19:4 NLT

Isaiah 40:28-31 says, “Have you never heard? Have you never understood? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

God carried the Israelites on eagles’ wings; that’s what happens every time we put our trust in God and rest in Him; He carries us higher than the storms of life; He lifts us far above the challenges of life; He takes over our battles and fights for us; and He refuels us, enabling us to go further faster. No wonder Jesus called; “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.”

Are you weary, in need, broke, helpless, ready to give up? Jesus is ready to carry you on eagles’ wings today. Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you. Get into His presence; forget about everything else and concentrate on Him: in His presence there’s refreshment, renewal, joy and liberty. Glory to God!
