Spirit and Life Devotional: Mind What You Believe

Spirit and Life Devotional is a daily publication by Pastor Chinaemerem Ibezim, senior pastor of Able Ministers Chapel, a church based in Calabar, Cross River State.

[pull_quote_center]”I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News.” Galatians 1:6 NLT[/pull_quote_center]

Look at what Apostle Paul said: he said that they were turning away from God by believing in a different gospel. In other words, what they believed stole their hearts from God without them even realizing it!

Brothers and sisters, can you see how dangerous beliefs are?

God and His message are inseparable. His word is truth and light; there’s no error or deception in Him. To believe something other than His Word, which is the truth, takes you away from Him, gradually; sometimes, completely, without you even realizing what’s going on.

Mind what you believe. Don’t be a babe in the things of God, tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine. Stand firm on the truth. Jesus prayed, “Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.” John 17:17. Don’t allow yourself to be defiled and corrupted by wrong doctrines. Get acquainted with the word of God; hold on tightly to the truth.
