If you wish to achieve anything significant in this life, you must be prepared to take the hard road.
The men and women we celebrate today, are those who had to endure so much pain, inconvenience and more. Men like Nelson Mandela. Paul said, “And because I preach this Good News, I am suffering and have been chained like a criminal.” Jesus too, endured the cross, and disregarded its shame.
What are you willing to endure in order to get to your desired destination? Many of us are like students who desire to pass, but don’t want to read! So they cheat. We want to be rich, but rather than work for it, we want to steal. We want to get to the top, but instead of being diligent, we prefer to use “long legs” and take short cuts. Those things can only take us so far.
Don’t be afraid of difficulties, challenges and resistance. Don’t quit because it is not easy. Remember the song: “Nobody told me that the road would be easy, and I don’t believe He brought me this far to leave me.” Keep going; God’s grace is sufficient for you. Amen.
