“You love righteousness and hate wickedness; Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” Psalms 45:7 NKJV
Righteousness is both a nature and a way of life. In the Old Testament, they did not have the nature of righteousness; in the New Testament, however, we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
Therefore we ought to live righteously. Living right as a Christian should be as easy as it is for a dog to bark. Dogs don’t struggle to bark; their nature makes them bark. In the same way, we should live righteously because of our new nature.
A new creature should not love sin: sin should make him very uncomfortable; sin is something that the new man should resist passionately. We should love righteousness and doing righteousness should give us joy. A man or woman who loves righteousness attracts the favour of God that sets him apart from others.
I love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, my God, is anointing me with the oil of gladness more than my companions, in Jesus name. Amen.
