Manny Pacquiao announced on his Facebook two days ago that he had built more than a thousand houses for members of his constituency! He shared a picture of the houses; and he’s still building more! To build over a thousand houses cost millions of dollars; it requires sacrifice. Brothers and sisters, that is love!
Do you know why there was no lack in the early church? It’s because people who had made sacrifices; they gave up what they had so that those who did not have could have. People sold their lands and other valuables, and surrendered all the monies to the apostles: brothers and sisters, that’s true love!
The best some of us have ever done is to give out our used items. Some of us are rich; some are not so rich, but comfortable; but we are not in any way laying down our lives for others. We talk so much about love, but we do not really love. John said, “But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.”
