Spirit And Life Devotional: Walking Blamelessly Before God

Must read

Genesis 17:1 KJV “And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.”

I can’t count the number of times God has asked me to walk before Him and be perfect; maybe because I didn’t take it seriously for a long time. Just as God said so to father Abraham, He’s still saying same to you and I today, it’s God’s desire that we live a blameless life.

Some people are worried by the word, perfect. They immediately take a defensive position when that word is mentioned. In modern language it means to be blameless and upright. And it’s still what God wants today! Philippians 2:15 says, “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.”

The world has not taken us seriously for a long time because we are not blameless and harmless. We seem to have forgotten that we are the lights of the world, we seem to forgot that we are leading the world and teaching them by our words and actions the right way to live. But if men like Daniel, Job, Joseph, Noah, Enoch and Samuel could do it in a time when grace wasn’t available, how much more you and I. How many of us can say like Paul, “Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.” Acts 23:1. His grace is sufficient for us.
