Man has allegedly committed suicide at Ekpo Iso lane in Ikot Ansa, a small town at the outskirts of Calabar in Cross River State .
Sources revealed that the man, Okon Usoro, is a father of 3 young children.
It is alleged that Okon had taken a soft loan to start a small retail business at the ending of 2014, he had struggled to meet up with the loan payment by mid 2015 and finally failed to meet up with the payment in mid 2016 because of the poor economic conditions in the country. Sources claim that the loan company had ordered the seizure and closure of his business because of the failure of Okon to meet up his payment deadline.
Frustrated and depressed, Okon had lost everything he had due to the economic crisis in the country and could no longer cater for his family responsibilities, he opted to take the easy way out.
He allegedly waited till the early hours of the morning as his family slept in their one room apartment before he crept outside the door and hung himself leaving behind him a hungry widow and her 3 young children who have been abandoned to the fate of growing up without a father.
His body was discovered in the early hours of the dawn and was taken down by sympathisers. #
