Three armed robbery suspects have been arrested by the Sokoto State Police Command for allegedly stealing N15 million from a trader at Illela market in Illela Local Government Area during an operation.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Douglas Agbouleni, while interrogating the suspects alongside other criminals, said they were arrested along a forest route in Rabah Local Government Area of the state while trying to escape.
A locally-made six-barrel pistol, an Italian pistol were among arms and ammunition recovered from the suspects.
Mr Agbouleni disclosed that a team of policemen had accosted the six-man gang at a checkpoint following a distress call from the victims.
He assured the victims that the police are doing their best to make sure that the other suspects who escaped are arrested and made to face the law.
