Must read

Hugo Lloris, a tottenham hotspur and France captain has been charged with drink driving, British police said on Friday, August 24, 2018.

Lloris, who won the World Cup with France last month, was stopped by police in central London in the early hours of Friday, August 24, 2018.

A statement from Metropolitan Police read: “A man has been charged following a routine patrol stop in Gloucester Place, W1.

“Hugo Lloris, 31, of East Finchley was charged with drink-driving on Friday, August 24.

“He has been bailed to return to Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, September 11, 2018.”

It is unknown if the shot stopper will feature when Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday, as the news was revealed after the coach’s press conference.

If the former Lyon player is forced to miss the clash with Jose Mourinho’s team, Pochettino will likely turn to Michel Vorm to fill in. The Dutchman has been at Tottenham for four years and made just 11 appearances in all competitions last season.

Lloris, who has played over 250 times for Spurs since joining in 2012, has featured in each of his side’s opening Premier League games this season, starting with a 2-1 win at Newcastle before beating Fulham 3-1.

Lloris captained France to World Cup glory in Russia this year as Didier Deschamps’ team beat Croatia 4-2 in the final.
