Tottenham Dampens Manchester City’s Title Challenge After Huge Comeback

Must read

Manchester City’s impressive start to the 2015/2016 season can now be considered history. The premier league title challengers have suffered their second straight league defeat. After losing to West Ham last weekend, City was again condemned to defeat on Saturday after Tottenham beat them 4-1 at White Hart Lane.

The first goal of the game came in the 25th minute through City’s multi-million pound signing, Kevin De Bruyne. The Belgian fired home after Yaya Toure threw a lovely through pass his way.

Tottenham leveled scores just before half time after De Bruyne’s poor clearance from Caballero’s save gifted the ball to Eric Dier who fired in a shot from out side the 18-yard box.

The home side came out in the second half a rejuvenated side. They took the lead in the 50th minute through Toby Alderweireld who scored an excellent header from a Lamela freekick.

Out-of-form striker, Harry Kane had his national team boss, Roy Hodgson smiling when he made the scores 3-1 in the 61st minute. Eriksen’s set piece had beat goalkeeper, Caballero before hitting the crossbar. Kane was well positioned to fire in a half volley.

Cameroonian, N’Jie had just been introduced and he was instrumental to the fourth goal. He beat Kolarov on the right flank before sending a perfect cross to Lamela who dribbled Caballero and Demichelis as defender and keeper swapped positions before he scored a lovely goal to complete Tottenham’s massive comeback.
