Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State has promised that his administration will, give priority to tourism, entertainment, arts and sports investments , in order to make Lagos a safe place where all residents can live, work and enjoy prosperity.
Governor Ambode said this during his inauguration dinner on Friday, May 29, 2015 assuring that his government would soon harmonise these sectors .
The governor in his address stressed that his party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, stood for change at both the Federal and state levels :
“When we say you should live in Lagos, work in Lagos and enjoy with Lagos, we mean that we are going to put tourism, entertainment, arts and sports together for excellence, and that is what I have always been preaching and that is what we are going to work for in the next four years.”
The governor urged for collaboration from the people of Lagos to help him succeed. He said: “I just want to enjoin all of us that the kind of collaboration we have had, we want each and every one of us to come together to start to propel the ideas that can give us an ideal Lagos.”
Guest that were present at the dinner included, Deputy Governor, Mrs. Oluranti Adebule and her husband, Mr. Saheed Adebule; immediate past Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola and his wife, Abimbola; the immediate past Deputy Governor, Mrs. Adejoke Orelope Adefulire; First Lady of Osun State, Mrs. Sherifat Aregbesola and Senator representing Lagos Central, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, among others.
