The personal steward of Governor Liyel Imoke of Cross River State has been reportedly killed in Calabar, Punch reports.
The man simply identified as Sebastian, from the Obanliku Local Government Area of the state was reportedly murdered by unknown assailants in his house moments after he returned home from the governor’s lodge.
According to an anonymous source, Sebastian who was married with kids went round the state on political campaigns with his boss and was killed after he returned home on the fateful day of Friday, February 20, 2015.
The source said, “Sebastian was killed on Friday in his Eight Mile residence. He was loved by the governor and his family. He had five-year-old twins and a new baby. The news came to us as a shock.”
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Christian Ita, refused to make comments on the issue but maintained that the issue would be due to the rising insecurity in the state as a result of political activities.
