‘Where is your pride?’: Thierry Henry Questions Performance Of Chelsea Players

Must read

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry and Chelsea midfielder, Cesc Fabregas were guest on Sky Sports on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 and they had to deal with questions from viewers.

Top on the discussion table was Chelsea’s terrible performance in the premier league this season. Henry berated the Chelsea players for losing to lesser oppositions such as Crystal Palace and Bournemouth this season.

Despite seating just beside Fabregas, Henry went on to question the commitment of the Chelsea stars.

“I think a bad season for Chelsea is finishing fifth, for me.

“They’ve lost nine games already. I never thought I would have said that. I just don’t get it.

“I always try to defend players to an extent, but I’m sorry, with the quality in that team, however you play, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-5-1, at what point can you not beat Bournemouth, Crystal Palace – no disrespect to any of those teams.

“Yes you can have a go at the boss, but I think you can also have a massive go at the players at the moment. Both of them together are in a situation that I actually don’t know about because I’ve never been in that situation.

“We had a bad season at Arsenal but we managed to finish sixth or fifth. We were always there, never past the 10th position.

“It’s time for the players to be professional about it.

“Where is your pride?” Henry asked.

Fabregas who appeared reserved while listening attentively during the interview also agreed that he and other Chelsea players had to step up their performance
