Must read

Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney broke his 1,000-minute drought which stretched from April 4, 2015 on Saturday, September 26, 2015. Rooney was only able to do so through an assist from teenage striker, Anthony Martial.

Martial who joined Manchester United from Monaco in the summer for £36million had before the weekend’s game against Sunderland scored four goals in four matches for the Red Devils.

Speaking after the game, Rooney praised the 19-year-old striker who he never knew before this summer.

“He’s been incredible. We have to remember he’s a 19-year-old lad who doesn’t speak English. But the start he’s had has been incredible.

“He’ll be a big player for us throughout the season and in the future, but we need to let him enjoy his football, and I’m sure he’ll bring plenty of magic moments for us,” Rooney stated.

Manchester United won Sunderland 3-0 with goals from Memphis Depay, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata.
