A man passed out after his wife assaulted him with a baseball bat because he failed to buy her a gift to mark the Valentines Day on Sunday, February 14, 2016.
The 46-year-old woman, Kimberly Hammond, from Ohio has been arrested by the police on assault and domestic violence charges.
The assaulted man told Washington County Sheriff’s deputies that his wife had been drinking before the assault and scratched and hit his face during an argument before she allegedly grabbed a mini baseball bat and hit him in the back of the head.
According to deputies, the man was knocked unconscious, and his wife continued to beat him as he came in and out of unconsciousness.
Hammond said she was angry because her husband forgot to get her a Valentine gift. A breath test showed she had a blood-alcohol level of .221, deputies said.
It was not clear whether she had posted bail or had been arraigned.
