NAN – A 26-year-old woman, Ada Egole, on Tuesday appeared in an Apapa Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for allegedly pouring faeces on her neighbour’s body.
Egole, a resident of No. 15 Okulaja Street, Ajegunle, Apapa, Lagos, is standing trial on a two-count charge of assault and breach of peace.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Tony Elibeh, said that the defendant on April 3 at her residence unlawfully assaulted one of her neighbours, Justina Olajide, by beating her to a pulp and also poured faeces on her body.
Elibeh said that the defendant and the complainant had a misunderstanding on some issues in the compound.
He said that the defendant claimed that the complainant was very rude to her, so she assaulted her by beating her up.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened Sections 166 and 171 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011, which attracts three years jail term on conviction.
The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Titus Abolarinwa, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
Abolarinwa adjourned the case till May 5 for mention.
