For Young Black People Who Want To Be Great… Here’s How You Do It (CLICK THIS)

Must read

I made this video for the great students at Kansas City Kansas Community College. It includes some of the ideas from my book, “Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about College” (which you can get at store.yourblackworld.net).

It is a conversation about what it means to be great. Also, there are challenges in all of our lives and far too many situations where we’re told that we’re just not good enough. Maybe we run into people who bring negative energy into our lives, etc.

This video is more of a reflection on how I was able to overcome these obstacles as a young person and find my true calling. It’s important to have these discussions with young people so they aren’t fooled into thinking that we’ve always been perfect. By sharing our struggles and explaining how to overcome them, we can pass the kind of knowledge and empowerment to the next generation that will help them to find their way to success.

I hope that someone is helped by the video. It comes from the heart.  There are times in all of our lives when we doubt ourselves and don’t feel like anyone else is there with us.  I want young black people to know that I am there with them in every way that I can be.  Hang in there, you can do it.
