Man Who Forced Way And Sat On Throne Of Tor Tiv Banished For Life (PHOTO)

Stephen Nyitse, the man who caused a stir at the coronation of the new Tor Tiv by sitting on the throne of the monarch before the coronation was fully done has been banished from Tiv land by The Tiv Traditional Council, for “butchery of the consecrated Tor Tiv Stool”.

Ter Kwande, HRH Chief Ambrose Pinne Iyortyer who announced the banishment on behalf of the Tiv Traditional Council said the punishment is with immediate effect.

And that Mr. Stephen Nyitse shall under no circumstances step his foot on any part of Tiv land anywhere in the world.

In the statement, the TTC prohibited all sons and daughters of Tiv race to offering any form of assistance to the banished former son of Tiv, Mr. Stephen Nyitse.

The Tiv Traditional Council, TTC, in the statement has, in a strong incontrovertible terms, condemned the behavior and asked the Tiv race to rise up in condemnation of such act and as well desist from all other forms of vices to make Tiv nation great again.

It will be recalled that one young man, Stephen Nyitse, from Ushongo Local Government Area of Benue State, caused a stir that sent shivers into the dignitaries at JS Tarka Stadium,Gboko, Benue State, the venue of the coronation of Tor Tiv V in Gboko on Saturday, March 4, 2017. He walked confidently and briskly, and sat on the throne of the yet to be coronated Tor Tiv, Prof James Ayatse.

He was able to beat the tight security at the venue and around the revered throne and gained access to it.

The strange behavior of the impostor aroused stir and apprehension among guests as security personnel immediately picked him for interrogation. As this was going on, Pentecostal fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, president in Benue, Bishop Mike Angou, led other men of God to anoint and rededicate the seat.

Stephen Nyitse was whisked off for interrogation to ascertain his mental state and whether his action had any sinister motive. But after the coronation, TTC, went into an emergency session over the matter and unanimously agree on banishment as punitive measure act and deterrent.
