2015: Buhari Seeks Support From Nigerians In Diaspora

With the 2015 general elections fast approaching and the stalwarts of the All Progressives Congress prepare for a showdown over who will be the party’s flag bearer at the Presidential election, former head of state, Muhammadu Buhari has taken his consultations abroad in a bid to get support without just as he has canvassed within the country ahead of the presidential primaries billed to commence on Thursday, September 25, 2014.

According to a report by Thisday, Buhari has been touring parts of the country consulting with relevant stakeholders and party leaders in order to garner considerable support for his presidential ambition.

An unnamed source close to the 3-time presidential aspirant say he has not stopped within the country as he has also been courting several interest groups and bodies in diaspora to sell his vision under the APC umbrella.

“Buhari is still engaged in consultations across the country and beyond. He had gone outside the country to further meet with stakeholders in the Nigerian project to elicit their support. It is after he has concluded the consultations that he will make a formal declaration,” he said.

In a related development, Thisday reports that APC leaders in the North West of the country, where Buhari and fellow presidential aspirant and incumbent governor of Kano state, Rabiu Kwakwanso hail from have been holding talks with both aspirants in order to present one consensus candidate for the zone when the real politicking begins.
