3 Arrested In Enugu For Stabbing Anglican Priest

Three persons have been arrested by officers of the Enugu State Police Command in connection with the murder of an Anglican Priest in Enugu.

Vanguard reports that the assailants who were said to have disguised as masqerades first beat up the priest, Reverend Christian Ajibo, and then proceeded to stab him on the chest on Thursday, July 2, 2015 in Igogoro, Enugu Ezike.

Even though the motive behind the attack remains a mystery, DSP Ebere Amaraizu, the Enugu State Police spokesperson, while confirming the incident, said that three persons were arrested and that the masquerade costume they used was also in police custody.

Amaraizu said; “operatives of Igboeze North Division of Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police have nabbed three suspects (names withheld), all of Igogoro, Enugu Ezike, Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area of Enugu State for allegedly conspiring to beat and stab one Reverend Christian Ajibo, an Anglican priest, last Thursday with a dagger on the right side of his chest.”
