The National Drug Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested a 35year old refrigerator parts seller , Celestine Alinnor with 1.1kg of cocaine.
Alinnor was on his way to Germany when he was detected by a scanner at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport during a check-in process of a Frankfurt bund , Turkish airline.
According to Head , Public Affairs of NDLEA Ofoyeju Mitchell who issued a statement on the incident , the suspected drug carrier ingested 60 wraps of the substance which tested positive on testing.
Ofoyeju quoted NDLEA commander , Mr. Hamzar Umar as saying that the suspect was to deliver the drugs at Frankfurt Germany
“The suspect who tested positive for drug ingestion was to deliver the cocaine at Frankfurt .While under observation , he excreted 60 wraps of white powdery substances that tested positive for cocaine weighing 1.1kg”. he said.
According to the agency, the suspect accepted that he was guilty of the charges levelld against him. He explained that his goods got missing and he needed money to take care of his wife and his three children.
“I was looking for assistance when I was introduced to drug smuggling . It was my last resort to sustain my family. They assured me that I will not be caught and also promised to pay me sum of 3,000 Euros .
Everything is now like a dream”, the suspect allegedly lamented.
According to Ofoyeju, the chairman/chief Executive of the NDLEA , Ahmadu Giade pleaded to the public to shun drug trafficking and report drug cases to the nearest NDLEA office.
