This development took place during the inauguration of the 10th State House of Assembly on Wednesday, June 14, 2023.

Ogundoyin, a member of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, and a native of Eruwa, was first elected as Speaker of the House in June 2019.

His re-election was proposed by Bamidele Adeola, a newly elected lawmaker representing Iseyin/Itesowaju constituency, and was seconded by Babajide Gabriel Adebayo.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, dominates the Oyo State House of Assembly, with 28 members, while the All Progressives Congress, APC, has four representatives.

Governor Seyi Makinde, the state governor, and other top government officials were present at the inauguration.

The re-election of Ogundoyin underlines the continued political influence of the PDP in Oyo State.

Under his leadership, the Oyo State House of Assembly is expected to continue its legislative activities, which will shape the political and socio-economic landscape of the state.
