An unnamed 40-yearoold man was said to have been butchered to death by Fulani herdsmen in Bantaji, a surburb of Wukari in a clash between Tiv farmers and Fulani herdsmen.
The cause of the death was said to be an altercation between a herdsman and Tiv man in the popular Bantaji market. In the process, the Fulani man hit the farmer with a sword, taking to his heels after hitting him with the sword.
According to reports, this caused anger among the Tiv farmers as they demanded a response as to why their kinsman was assaulted by the unnamed fulani man. This led to violence as both groups mobilized and started attacking each other, during which the 40-year old man was butchered.
