5 Things To Consider Before You Start Vaping

If you’re a smoker who’s thinking about quitting, you’ve probably already considered taking up vaping instead. There’s certainly quite a lot of evidence out there to show that it’s a safer option than smoking, without the release of all those harmful chemicals and toxins into your lungs every time you inhale. However, it can be a big learning curve, transitioning from smoking to vaping, so what do you really need to know before you get started? Here are five things you should consider before making the switch.

1. Know Your E-Cigarette Types

There’s no such thing as a standard “vape”. There are several different product categories to be aware of so you can choose the right one for you. You’ll find all the information you need to know at https://vapesupply.pro to help you select a model which suits your requirements. Basically, there are disposable e-cigs, which many first time vapers choose because of their convenience. You can pick them up at your local gas station and they look and feel a lot like a cigarette. This makes them a good transition from the real thing, but they probably aren’t powerful to satisfy you for long. You might want to consider switching to a cig-a-like or a vape pen instead, as these are more powerful. A box mod makes vaping a lot more fun. These bigger devices produce large clouds and give you the flexibility to change the temperature and wattage to suit you. However, they’re more complicated to get to grips with, so you might want to wait until you’re a little more experienced first.

2. Direct To Lung Or Mouth To Lung

There is another key distinction between e-cigs – some are direct to lung and others are mouth to lung devices. The inhalation method is different for each so you need to know which you prefer. A mouth to lung device is best for new vapers because it is the same as smoking in that the vapor is drawn into the mouth first before you inhale. A DTL (direct to lung) device will produce an airier vape to be inhaled right into your lungs.

3. Know Where You Can Vape

Lots of people are under the misconception that they can vape anywhere. Sadly, that’s not the case. Vaping is now becoming more regulated and there are now more rules about where and when you can vape. Some states have now banned vaping in places where smoking tobacco is also prohibited and this includes restaurants, bars and other enclosed spaces. Some premises have rules of their own, so checking them out before you start vaping is best if you want to avoid getting into trouble.

4. Nicotine Strength Options

Unlike cigarettes which only come in one strength, you can get e-liquids for vaping in a range of nicotine strengths. Former smokers should judge the strength of nicotine they need based on how frequently you smoked. Non-smokers could use a 0mg/ml e-juice while light smokers would be better with a 3mg/ml e-juice. Standard smokers might prefer a 6mg/ml e-liquid while heavier smokers might prefer a 12mg/ml e-liquid.

5. VG Or PG

Another element to bear in mind is whether you would prefer a PG or a VG based e-juice. VG, or vegetable glycerine and PG (propylene glycol) are the two key bases in e-liquids. Each bottle has a ratio of PG/VG and this effects how thick an e-liquid is and how much flavor you can enjoy. VG is thicker than PG so it needs more heat. If you want to use a high VG e-juice you’ll require a box mod. Some people are allergic to PG, however, so they’ll need a VG based e-juice. Higher PG contents also have a stronger throat hit, which is good for new vapers who are transitioning from smoking.

Have Fun With Vaping

Vaping is a lot of fun, so don’t take it too seriously. It’s a safer alternative to smoking tobacco and it’s easy to do – what’s no to enjoy? Why not try some crazy flavors and see which ones you enjoy the most – after all, that’s something that you couldn’t do when you were smoking cigarettes. You’ll soon wonder why you didn’t make the switch sooner!
