Agberoism: Governor Adeleke Inaugurates Committee To Tackle Thuggery In Motor Parks

Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has set up and inaugurated a Committee on Transportation to rid all motor parks in the state of thugs and other unwholesome acts to ensure that parks are safe, productive, and enjoyable for all and sundry.

While speaking, Adeleke said his administration is determined to sanitize motor parks across the state, noting that, he can no longer allow parks in Osun State to be breeding grounds for thuggery and lawlessness.

He further stated that his goal is to develop modern transport terminals, urging the committee to study and review the current park system, propose a new park management model and develop an implementation plan for all parks across the State.

Governor Adeleke, therefore, charged the committee to take the assignment with all seriousness.

In his acceptance remarks on behalf of the newly-inaugurated members, the Chairman of the Committee, Barr. Jola Akintola, appreciated the Governor for giving them the opportunity to serve in such a committee geared towards the revitalization of all motor parks in Osun.

He pledged that the committee will do the job to the best of its ability, adding that those on the assignment will not let the governor down in the discharge of their responsibilities to the state by also working to ensure that the internally generated revenue of the state is increased.

Akanni Tunji is the Secretary of the committee with other members as Mr Apesin Lanre Kolade; Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa; Hon. Fadipe Ibukun, Alhaji Duduyemi Azeez, Mr Akin Titiloye, and Hon. Sunday Akanfe Atidade as members of the Committee.

Others on the committee are Hon. Tajudeen Adisa, Mr Kola Faesan, Mr Ayobami Folorunsho and Alhaji Fatai Alade.

Osun’s Governor Adeleke Sets Up Panels To Recover Looted State Assets

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun has tasked the members of the panels and committees to track all looted public assets belonging to the state.

This is contained in a statement issued by Adeleke’s Spokesperson, Malam Olawale Rasheed, on Wednesday, November 30, 2022.

The governor gave the charge after inaugurating four panels in Osogbo to also review all appointments made after July 17 by the last administration.

Adeleke, represented by the Deputy Governor, Mr Kola Adewusi, decried the widespread ”pillaging” of government assets.

”You must right the wrongs and discharge your mandates with sense of urgency.

”We assure the people that we will not back down on our resolve to stop all post-July 17 illegalities,” he said, assuring that the state payroll pre-July 17 remains intact.

Adeleke said the state government has n-t sacked any worker on the Osun payroll.

”Those with issues to explain are those who entered the payroll after July 17,” he said.

The review panels inaugurated by the governor include the Staff Audit/Appointments/Promotion Review Committee (Chaired by Dr Muyiwa Oladimeji), State Assets Inventory, and Recovery Committee (Chaired by  B. T. Salam).

Others are the Contracts/MoU/Agreements Review Committee (Chaired by Mr Niyi Owolade) and Chieftency Affairs Review Committee (Chaired by Bunmi Jenyo).

First Move: Governor Adeleke Freezes Osun Bank Accounts, Vows To ‘Correct Past Injustices’

One of Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke first acts in office is to direct that all the bank accounts belonging to the state to be frozen till further notice.

He gave the directive shortly after he was sworn in as the sixth Governor of the State.

He also reversed policies introduced by former Governor Rauf Aregbesola and vowed to review all appointments by his predecessor, former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, since July 17th 2022 when he lost election.

Adeleke, who was sworn in at the Osogbo Township Stadium on Sunday, November 27, 2022, promised to deliver all his campaign promises.

“Under my watch, I will correct past injustice, corrupt acts or policies by the previous administration which are against the collective interest of our people,” he declared.

He gave an Executive Order to reverse the policies of Aregbesola, which recognised Osun State as State of Osun.

He also announced that the slogan of the State will no longer be ‘State of Virtue’ but ‘State of Living Spring’.
